Community Program to Prevent Wildlife Roadkills and Protect Endangered Species

Especially in these challenging times, restoring wildlife populations affected by war damage is a top priority.

The Safe Passages for Wildlife Association has developed a unique community program focused on restoring wildlife populations, with an emphasis on preventing roadkills in ecologically significant areas.

The program is offered at a subsidized rate to the ten municipalities with the highest wildlife impact rates, based on our research findings.

What Does the Program Offer?

  • 9 Training Sessions as preparation for a hands-on field project

  • Field Tracking Tours guided by professional trackers

  • In-Depth Knowledge about local wildlife and their habitats

  • Identification of Challenges and Risks faced by wildlife in the area

  • Presentation of Innovative Solutions from Israel and around the world

  • Training in Establishing and Managing Additional Community Projects

In the second phase of the training, participants will engage in approximately 3-4 project planning and implementation sessions, with support from experienced mentors. They will:

  • Define clear objectives and create a detailed work plan

  • Lead the project’s execution in the field, including long-term monitoring and tracking

  • Present the project plan to the community and local council in a celebratory event

  • Showcase the project’s results after about a year

Why Choose This Program?

  • Contribution to the Local Environment: By participating, you'll have the opportunity to be part of a practical project that creates a real change in the field and improves the lives of wildlife in your area. This is a chance to impact the community we live in and play a significant role in nature conservation.

  • Practical Tools and Unique Knowledge: Gain hands-on skills and practical experience in conservation, including tracking, wildlife monitoring, and community project planning. Learn directly from experts in the field.

  • A Unique and Meaningful Experience: The program is not just educational but also engaging and inspiring, with field trips, wildlife tracking, and a chance to make a tangible contribution to environmental and nature conservation.

  • Connection with Like-Minded Individuals: The program brings together people with high environmental awareness, fostering connections with those who share a passion for nature and a commitment to environmental impact.

  • Deep Understanding of Wildlife: Get to know the unique biodiversity of your area, learn to identify local wildlife, and understand their importance within the ecosystem.

  • Leadership Development Opportunity: Through the practical project experience, you'll have the chance to lead the group and collaborate with mentors, enhancing your leadership and management skills.
